What genres of movie do you like the most? Fairy tales? Romantic? Comedy? Or adventure? ‘The princess bride’ includes all of these genres. This movie was made in 1987 by Rob Reiner. Rob Reiner is famous for being a great director, actor and also a producer. Don’t you want to know more about the movie? Just follow on.

The movie starts with a little boy, who is sick, listening to grandfather’s story. The story is about a farm boy called Westley and a girl called Buttercup’s true love.

Westley is poor. He had to earn money to marry her. However, the ship he is on gets attacked by Dread Pirate Roberts who is famous for killing all the people on the boat. Buttercup decided not to love anyone after the ship got attacked. But Prince Humperdinck made her marry him. One morning, Butter cup went out for the walk and got kidnapped by Fezzik, Inigo, and Vizzini.

While they were kidnapping her, they saw ‘a man in black’ following them. The man in black tried to save princess Buttercup. He does save her. She wants to see man in black’s face. Surprisingly, it was the boy she loved. Westley. She was so happy to see him because she thought he died because of the pirates. She told the story about her engagement to Prince Humperdinck, and about Prince Humperdinck’s big plan that he was going to kill her.

They both tried to escape from the solders looking for them. However they both got caught and Buttercup went back to the castle and Westley was went to the ‘pit of despair’ where was a place to torture people. The prince was so angry that Buttercup loved Westley more than him. So he killed Westley with electric shock. However, Tessik and Inigo helped him dame back to life and made Westly to fight against the people and get the princess back.

There are a few lessons we can learn from the story. His first lesson is true love can’t be broken. The farm boy, Westly, said “as you wish” all the time when Buttercup wanted something for him to do. “As you wish” is the same as “I love you” for Westly. Second, as usually, almost all the movies have happy endings! watch a short clip about Westly saying as you wish.

In this movie, we can learn leadership too. You will hear the word ‘inconceivable’ a lot in this movie. This means unthinkable. When the leader can’t think what will happen next, the follower would get hurt.

I recommend this movie for a lot of reasons. This movie teaches a lot of life lessons and leaderships. I think this is a good movie for everybody to watch this movie! It is fun~

NOTHING SPECIAL 2013.7.29

TODAY I WROTE ALL OF THE DIARIES. IT WAS NOT THAT EASY AS I THOUGHT. IT WAS REALLY HARD FOR ME TO TYPE ALL THE DIARIES EXEPT FOR ONE DIARY THAT I ALREADY WROTE. I THINK TYPING IS A REALLY GOOD WAY TO WRITE DIARY BUT IT IS ALSO NOT A GOOD WAY TO WRITE A DIARY BECAUSE IT MAKES ME LAZY. STILL I LOVE WRITING BY THE COMPUTERS.
TODAY I HAD NOTHING SPECIAL. .......

vision cast. 2013. 7. 28

today we did vision cast. It was for 2 hours. it's kind of jun but there was nothing to do. for the first hour, we did some writing about our self and about the class. it was not that boring. We laughed a lot. however, the last hour, we watched the movie which I don't know the name, but boring. so we only watched that movie for 30 minutes and went back to our own dorms. I saw videos in U tube with my friend. she was already in the room. she said their class saw the documentary about the place which is here KMLA. she said it was bit boring. so we saw a lot of dramas. it was really fun. I watched the movie because my club activity was watching movies. today, we watched Bolt. I saw this movie for like 10 times already. So I could get the title right after showing the word "closed". still i love to watch movies. i really love to watch movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pop song contest 2013.7.27

today we had the pop song contest. our class prepared the song Viva La Vida. we did not get any prize after all. In my opinion the song was not exciting. other team's song was exciting. and the exciting team got eh prize like level 15, 20, 14. level 15 did head banging. I thought my friend's class which was class 20 and 15 was fantastic. and they got the prize. I saw the audiences looking at us in a boring way. I think it was because our song was not that exciting. I couldn't get the snack and I'm hungry. I'm going to tell my friends to bring me some snacks to share. but still it is a great memory during GLPS.

5th day 2013.7.26

(Today we did the mock trail. we lost as I thought yesterday.)
Tomorrow is the pop song contest. our lass is working hard to get the prize which is cookies. we are preparing plays while the instrumental parts. level 20 is going to do the play too.
level 13 is going to make a boy make up as a girl and make audience laugh. they told me that they are going to make him wear the dress and dye hair, make his face white enough to make the audience sure that it is a boy, not a girl. i think she is really poor.
 we practiced our pose, parts and the roles in the instrumental parts. 근준 is going to act like a king while the play. Sue will make him wear the crown and I'm going to take the crown off. and at the last, 기랑 is going to kill 근준 with on sword (fake). I wish our team gets the prize. I really want to eat snacks...

fourth day 2013.7.25

Tomorrow we have "mock trail" to do. So I'm writing this diary while we are discussing with my team. I think we will probably lose. I will just try my best to finish my roll without any trouble. I am not that prepared for my roll, which is opening statement and direct examination. I think the crown side has more good evidence and ideas, facts then us. It is because they all worked hard. I think I will have to study harder to win. I think I should copy this on the diary because Mr. Garrioch took my diary to check my diary. I;m worried about my hand writing. It is not that clean or pretty like other girls. I'm keep on trying to write in a good hand writing but I can't. my hands hurt. I wish my self a good luck for tomorrow's debate.

3rd day 2013.7.24

Today was the 3^rd day from Monday, which was when we had the placement test. Today we started golf. Golf was kind of hard. I couldn’t hit the ball correctly at the first , however, I could hit the ball correctly later on. That’s better than non. My figures hurt when I grabbed the club wrong. Still I think golf is a great sport to do.

We also did history class. History class was with Mr. Cox. We are preparing a presentation about Greece. We are going to present it on Saturday. Tomorrow we have to go to the computer lab to make a blog. I’m very excited to make one blog that is mine!! I’m looking forward. We also have Mr. Cox class and Mr. Tierney’s class, which is history and mock trail. I can’t fully understand the mock trail but I can understand it just the right… I’m looking forward tomorrow

First time 2013.7.23

Today we had our orientation. It was boring although it was loud. I can't explain exactly how it was but still I can remember how it was.  It was odd. Really ODD. After orientation, we met each other (class 18) and also Mr Garrioch.  WE are going to meet Mr. Garrioch during the morning for 15 minutes every day. we have two contests. First contest was speaking and second was Pop song contest. Mr .Garrioch told us that we all have to go out to the contest, however, I don't really know I am going to go on the speech contest. THe song we are going to sing is Coldplay's "Viva La Vida". I never heard about this song. I almost memorized the lyrics but I don't know the melody... So I can't memorize the song (melody and lyrics). I wanted to sing We will rock you but I didn't raise my hand because there was nobody who raised their hand for this song. I want to win this contest. I really...

30 day challenge for myself

Do you know the challenge called ”30-day challenge”? The 30-day challenge was Matt Cutt’s idea. He came to TED, which is the abbreviation of technology, entertainment, and design. From now on, I’m going to do my own 30-day challenge to succeed with my three goals while I’m studying at GLPS.

A goal is a target or something you want to achieve. To make a great goal, we have to memorize the word “smart’

S = specific (needs lots of details)

M = measurable (able to measure)

A = attainable (able to attain)

R = relevant (related to me not others)

T = time-bound (time frame)

My three goals for the 30-day challenge is …

First, getting one green card at least

Second, do not get the yellow card because I left the dorm late

Lastly, try to follow E.O.P. (English Only Policy) every time.

My first goal I’m going to achieve in GLPS camp is getting a green card at least once. To get the green card, I’ll have to work hard on every subject I learn. I’ll have to keep my blog clean and colorful so that the people who visit my bog like it. Also I’ll have to write a diary on the blog every day. Mr. Garrioch told us that he will give green cards to the students who wrote 3 diaries. So I should work hard on my diary and the blog to achieve my goal.

My second goal is not getting any yellow cards because of leaning the dorm late. To get no yellow cards because of being late, I’ll have to be prepared. I’ll have to put all of my books and homework in my bag before going to sleep. Also I’ll have to set on the alarm to tell me what time is it and when I do have to leave the dorm.

My third goal is to follow the rule which is E.O.P. to achieve this goal, I’ll have to try using English with my friends even when I am in the dorm and cafeteria. I will also have to try to speak English like it is my mother language.

I think achieving my goals will not be that easy. However, I will try my best to achieve my goals. Then I will feel proud of myself and get more confidence. Try the 30-day challenge your self. You’ll get more confidence.

I am now in GLPS camp which is from Minjok high school which is one of the best high school in Korea.
I will introduce myself with three word.

3) Hollywood

Can you infer how those three words are related to me?

The first word, PSY, is famous for 'Gangnam style'

This shows where I live right now. I live in Gang nam. Gang nam is one of the Korean cities that are famous for 'academic systems'.


The second word, Halloween, is a famous holiday.



This tells when is my birthday. My birthday is on October 31st. So the Halloween is my famous holiday.

The last word, Hollywood, is famous for movies.


This tells what my hobby is. My hobby is watching movies. The movie called Avatar is my favorite movie from Hollywood.

I want you to remember PSY, Halloween, and Hollywood when you hear the name Amy Oh.
